Following successful sold-out ticket sales for Lean: The Musical, SPIT! has covered expenses with $1,500 to spare. The excess funds were passed forward to the Listen to Dis’ Community and Art Organization.
“We have never ever received such a generous donation in the history of LTD,” said Traci Foster, the group’s founder. “I thank you from the bottom of our collective crip heart!”
Listen to Dis’ provides opportunities for members of the Disability Community to grow as artists and arts professionals. Their activities include theatre productions that deepen public understanding of Disability Culture.
“We’re just excited to be in a position to help other community theatre initiatives blossom,” said Trish Elliott, SPIT! executive committee member. “Art is such an important connector for Saskatchewan people.”
