Isn’t it weird to sell 49% of something you don’t own, without asking the rightful owners? We think so too, but that’s what Bill 40 allows the government to do. By changing the definition of privatization to suit its privatization agenda, it would kind of be like a used car salesperson roping off a random parking lot and bolding declaring: “I’m not necessarily saying these cars are for sale, but I am definitely taking offers!”
Saskatchewan Public Interest Theatre Company is hosting a guerilla theatre production highlighting the absurdity of Bill 40 – which will allow the government to sell 49% of any Crown without holding a referendum or asking Saskatchewan people.
Bill 40 is up for a final vote on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 and we want to demonstrate exactly how ridiculous this piece of legislation is.
