The Saskatchewan Public Interest Theatre Company(SPIT), in partnership with Briarpatch Magazine, is launching a new production called “The Austerity Monologues.” Styled after the iconic play, The Vagina Monologues, SPIT will seek out the stories of how people across the province will be impacted by the Sask Party’s callous austerity budget. Once stories have been selected, we will dramatize them and add in elements of both tragedy and comedy. In addition to a production in Regina, the script will be available to communities to help them put on their own versions of The Austerity Monologues — a great idea for a fundraiser and community solidarity event.
